Working on a submission for this week's irish sketchers theme - it's in honor of James Gandolfini. This week's theme is "Tony Soprano"

Tuesday gurl!

Drew these in work today, while the server was "playing up".
Something about the rough I like too.

Monday Manuela!

Tonight's post is of one of the best animators I have been lucky enough to meet in the last 2 years: the excellent Manuela!

Superman!

Quick scribble I did while doing a workprint today. I hated the recent film, and the new version in the comics is pretty crap too, so I've been watching alot of Bruce Timm's version to make me feel better.

Think I'm gonna clean this up in flash properly next week.

Tuesday girl?

With Monday mate getting posted twice, the blog is out of sequence this week, but sure, let's keep going.
Pretty happy with this.

This was a "redraw" challenge by a friend... and it was also a slight "dig" about my always drawing girls with 1 eye. (what can I say, I like that)

Monday mate update!

Because I was home late last night, I didn't post all the drawings to do with yesterday's post.

This version I really like... I like using that style for noses.

This is the portrait I did for Stef after his wedding.

Here is the progression of the caricatures. The first obviously a more cartoony version. The second is more the direction I wanted to go, so I built off of that.

This piece was a drawing I was working on for a boulder art blog theme. The theme was to draw a childhood hero. And when I was a kid I used to follow Stef around like made.

This was inspired by a football camp we attended when we were kids. I remember Stef being surrounded by people watching him play. (Stef is probably the best footballer I ever saw and had the pleasure of playing with!)

And then cut to me... this shy kid covered in mud!

So I had to draw him for the theme!!!

Had to be!

Stef!!!
Late home so, I'll post the "process" and other sketches tomorrow morning.

life drawing

Here's some life drawing from May

Aimed to "fit" the pose within the boundary of the page itself

Again, used the page edge to add to the pose.

Return to normal service!

After a little bit of a gap, I'm back. Busy busy busy has resulted in the lack of posting in the last 2 weeks. So with that in mind, I'm gonna post 2 people tonight.

First  - Stephen Mcgann!

The last pic I did, think during our painting the studio stage.

Steve is one of the other animation directors in Boulder, I've been lucky enough to work with him for about 10 years now. An excellent animator, Mcgann is best described as a "villain" in my rogues gallery ;). (nerd reference!)

The original sketch I did for back in 08
The clean up of the above sketch

And second, because he requested it - Graham "Hump" Murray!

Did this drawing at the exact same time I drew the Matty Reid pic. I drew em as a pair, because they're always together. (This is a very loose drawing Grahamer, but you asked for a pic! sorry, I promise I'll do a proper one)
