Green eyes!

Drew this last year but added the colour tonight. Love the colour green, and always think green eyes are attractive on women.

(Probably cause I have green eyes.... or maybe old Jack Burton knows what it is)

Happy Birthday Neev!

It was Neev Brennan's birthday over the weekend, so who better to post for this Monday. I might have spent a little more time making sure this one was good too. Neev is pretty, pretty good at caricatures herself.

Still undecided if this or the 2 above are my favourite one

These are all the earliest ones. Any of the square glasses ones are really early.

Again, some more attempts, the green post-it drawing became the bases for the final colour version, and the last one is from last weeks table quiz, both her and Dalton liked it so it made the blog.

Neev is responsible for "monday mate". She sits beside me in work and saw me scribbling away and gave out that the drawings weren't posted, so thank you ms. Brennan.

Hope you had a good birthday.

4-3, getting closer!

So we played Brown Bag again in an 11 a-side match last night.

The final score was 4-3 in favour of Brown bag and it was a brilliant match. At half time we were winning 2-0 and really thought we'd hold on and win. But the baggers came out of the traps like a rocket in the second half.

Absolutely great night and hopefully we get to do it again soon.

Neev bailed on us so in the end we had no photos but i did get this right at the start of the game... it was so cold, there was snow! (Boulder were in red last night)

Wednesday post...

Got kinda side tracked tonight and before I knew it, it was 10.30 when I got home. So I'm gonna post something quick.

Think it was 2 years ago Boulder wanted to redesign the company logo. I pitched 3 and the other 2 I might post some other time.

But tonight I'm gonna post the initial one I submitted. It was more to show the idea of the company name being on an actual boulder to everyone.

Now it's quite clear that it's a photoshop job. The original is a title card from looney tune cartoon.

I liked the idea of using the whole thing, bar the bg obviously. But then I love the Looney Tunes shorts.

Model Tuesday

Today's "Tuesday girl" covers a couple of tags. The drawing is actually a caricature of one of our regular life drawing models. Her name is Louise and she tends to do cheeky expressions when posing. And at life drawing tonight I kept fucking up any detail on the face, so, on the bus ride home I decided to draw her smirking for today's post.

(This is pretty much 1:1 for scale too.)

Chris!

Here's the world famous Chris O'Hara!

These were all done near the end of Gumball, originally thought these were "close" but happier with the chosen one.

These ones are even earlier. They're the early attempts. Think that first one is one of the earliest and as you can see it became the bases for the final version.

And as per request from my "apprentice" here's a little bit of animation! Chris and his wriggly eyebrows! (think I redo this, the gif timing is a little off)

Friday pic

Today's pic is a viking. Tried colouring it during the week, but I think I prefer the black and white version. I'll take another stab at it over the weekend if I get time.

Skrull Jamie

So a back in 2008 marvel's secret invasion was in full swing. I loved this story. Bendis had spent alot of years setting it up and I love double agent spy stuff. So when it started, I did a Skrull avatar of myself for msn messenger. (Liked colouring it with dots too.)

Before bed!

So, was out on a school night tonight, and never finished a pic I was colouring in work today for this. So here's a quick post-it drawing instead.

Kid Ste!

Today's "Monday mate" is Stephen Kelly. The Dorian Gray of Irish animation! This was a hard one to be honest. Ever since Venture bros. Ste is the basically Hank Venture!

But to be honest I coloured this tonight and I'm pretty dam happy with it, if I do say so myself.

This was the original sketch I was gonna post. Then I decided to clean it up and colour it.

Here are the initial attempts. I think you can see the venture bros influence in that last one. I was originally going with a more "rounded" design. Think that was moving down the Hank Venture route.

Birthday post!

Another page from that same sketch book, another girl on a bus. think I drew her because she had the same headphones as me. Off to see wreck-it ralph today. Can't wait.

2 posts!

2 posts to make up for the lack of a post yesterday. Was off celebrating the release of a comic a  friend of mine, Will Sliney, had drawn for Marvel. He's working on Fearless Defenders and the 1st issue was out this week. (go buy it!)

These are 2 quick head sketchs of the same girl I did on the way home from work one day. Thought I would just post the scans outright as opposed to cropping anything. I work in a A6 sketch pad so they're pretty much to scale here.

Tuesday 13

"Tuesday girl" - Thanks to Gary Reynolds for encouraging this to become a theme.

Monday Mick!

So tonight's pic is of Mick O'Sullivan. Mick left this fair isle a couple of months ago to go live the dream in London.

So before he left I drew him this!

I've know Mick for years, and for some reason I always picture him like Grover from Seasame Street. I think it's either his eternal optimism or his dance moves!

But encase you thought that was the only drawing I did of him here are some human versions.

One of my all time favorite caricatures I've done.
The inked version loses that "essence" a little.

To be honest, I don't think I'll ever top the first green one. Think I fairly nailed "him" in it. But since drawing that, Mick cut his big hair and so I tried to update it. (tell me what you think)

And just for fun, I decided to colour the muppet version for the blog.

Friday's post

Batman scribble done at lunch!
