Thanks to everyone

So i thought I'd just post something small right now, a thank you to all my friends for 2 things.

firstly for supporting the cycle, i raised €1,050 and i was well delighted about that. I'll get the over all number of what we raised when Damo gets it all together, but i fairly figure we beat our target of €5,000.

Secondly, I'd like to thank all my friends over the last two weeks for looking out for me. With the death of my Grandfather I've been sort of running on auto pilot and that would explain both my lack of work on both this blog and the running of the boulder one...

Anyway, i hope to turn things round this week and get the head together!

I'll probably do a proper post tomorrow night about my grandad tomorrow night, but for anyone who hadn't met him or hasn't heard me talk about him (you should have listened), here's the article that was printed in the cork echo last week.

p.s. thanks Chris for scanning it and sending it to me

Now this is a big post!

So, i havent posted in awhile... mainly cos i've been extremely busy of late. The cycle to Cork is this Saturday, so i figured before i post all the photos and video of me in pain, i'd post some pics.

the first is a gif for the boulder blog banner. First attempt... think i'll post it anyway.

This one's thoroughly inspired by Ed. Its the Jiger he was slagging me about during the hybrid theme on the work blog... really going thru a Hanna Barbara phase at the mo.

These two are for another work related post. The them was Summer blockbusters. So i did one of the lads, Simon, as the silver surfer... cause he surfs... I perfer the cartoon, but thought he'd get a kick out of a photoshop job too.

This is a sketch i did of hugo from Lost last night, while watching the last episode... i firmly believe the whole thing is a giant joke on the public. Any way i'll probably stick the whole thing out just like Prison Break and when it finishes wish i spent the time drawing!

Thanks Craig!

So we recieved a copy of the Foster's dvd today in work, and Craig McCraken actually sorted us out with a copy each. So thanks for that! Its a pretty nice dvd package and two scenes i did during the first 3 episodes actually are used on the back. Pretty happy with that.

Also, Steve sent me this so check it out, its great...

For Stef

This is a piece of animation i did last year for a couple of reasons.
1)Last summer we had some down time in boulder, it was the period between foster's ending and el tigre starting, so they asked us to do some animated 10 seond clips that we could put on the website or show reel. Well in all honesty i was tired at that point and didnt really feel like doing a 10 second flash joke, so i decided to do something i myself could use on my own reel. So i did a dance sequence.
2)I also did it for my cousin Stef who was a dancer lent me most of the reference i watched before starting it.
3) The dance section of the gorillaz first video is class and i always wanted to animate something like that!

Now its not really finished as i never coloured it the way i wanted, but its a nice piece and it made it onto my reel back in march.

H3RO SQUAD!

I wanted to post this just for fun. I play Call of duty and enjoy playing online the odd night (in fact i think I'm addicted) any way last year before my friend Steve went gallivanting around the world we kinda set up a clan as a joke while playing Battlefield online. It was called "H3ro squad" after an excellent joke in Arrested Development.

Well, 1 year later we're back together and we decided to "clan" our game names again... So i thought I'd post a screen grab of us cleaning up in a server... (they tried to kick us, cos they thought we were cheating)

Anyway my game name is "Ricky Martin" after, you guessed, it Ricky Martin. Its because of a great sketch on SNL i saw back when i started playing C.O.D originally where jimmy Fallon did Ricky martin in a celebrity jeopardy... anyway, it usually gets a laugh on servers too.

P.S.

Just found this guy's blog now, me and a friend in work we're salivating over his designs in work today!!!

wednesday news

so i dont really have any drawings to post today, but felt i better post something new. So i figure i'll post some news.

Well i went to spider-man 3 last friday, little disappointed with it, but hey, if the cost of spider-man 2 is a dodgey third movie, i'll take it.
Still looking into moving to Canada. Passed several tests as a first step to a visa. Probably the best bit of news i got is that Sinead's sister(Sinead being my girlfriend ) asked can she name her baby Jamie if its a boy. That was pretty cool i must say.

Oh and as a side note Nickelodeon spelt my name wrong on the credits of El Tigre, so i think i hate the show even more now! Anyway only about 4 weeks of it left thank god. Man do i need a break now.

Anyway i think that covers everything for abit... so heres a pic for everyone... its of the 3 rainbows that were over my house yesterday, i only had my camera phone, so you'll have to work to see the 3 of em, but trust me they were there.

steamy studios!

OK. This is a one minute pitch i put together with my friend ed. it was back when both of us were unemployed and there was a competition for a show on bbc3. it was aimed at 20-26 year old males... hence why we went with this. At the time i was really happy with this, it took a week all together. (that is to say, compensating for the crappy jobs we were boht working to get money). Anyway, i did the designs and animation and ed did the sound and the dialogue. Strictly adults only please

OVER 18's!!!

Back at work

So i'm back to work finally. Was in for a brief stint on thursday but then preceded to collapse on friday morning and weex for air till about sunday night... Anyway, i missed the frameworks deadline, but to be honest in my dilerium i had a dream where i told myself not to do it thru boulder. (i think you can safely call that a sign!)

anyway, i dont really keep any pics on this machine. so i'll post something when i get home.

Yippee!

so i'm feeling a little better now. I think i'll go to work tomorrow now, and make myself ill again!

Was wondering if the leaflet thing was working for anyone, and if it was could you tell me!!!

So Still Sick!

So I'm still sick! yahoo.... I'm at home today and pissed off cause 4 days in bed is a waste of time and not exactly helpful when my deadlines are this tight. I'm up because i had to sort out the permissions for the boulder blog and then, its back to bed. The only consolation i have is that it looks like rain out side. Anyway, sorry for moaning again, and for anyone whose read this i decided that you deserve something nice to look at. So on Saturday i made an online portfolio thing (I'm trying to sort out a web site for myself), so i may as well post it here for the time being...

if you like anything on this I'd love to hear it, so feel free to comment!

Just checked this blog!

I ment to add this to the previous post, it's Gabe Swarr's blog. Gabe is one of the Head guy's on El Tigre, the show i currently work on. Forget his work on that stuff thou, i much prefer his Super Mario stuff. Anyone who knows me knows i'm a nintendo nutjob, so i find all that stuff on the site much more interesting! Maybe someday he'll get a mario show, and if i'm lucky we'll work on it too! Anyway, go check it out!

Gabe's site

Not feeling too good!

So, I've been in bed for the last 2 days, so its been a really great bank holiday week-end!!! My sister brought some viral thing home and after a week of her being sick, i finally got it. So I decided to post an image from my show reel DVD i made when i went to Canada. It's one of the last images on the DVD and i really like the mega man head. I also found some pretty great blogs and sites during my "in firmed" time! Go check them out there's some brilliant stuff. I think my favourite blog i found is actually a guy in England called Andy J. Latham. He's learning to animate so its refreshing to see some one with such enthusiasm!

Andy's got some great video files on there. Go watch!

Sandra's stuff

Sandra gave me her blog link for the boulderblog. But it thought i'd post it on mine first. Sandra is the Production artist on Funky Fables (aka twisted tales). It's the other show boulder have in production at the moment. It's pretty cool having someone in the company actually drawing up characters for a show. Sandra is just as nuts about animation as i am so go check out her stuff!

My showreel

so after about 2 hours figuring out youtube (yeah, i know, i'm an idiot) and my computer crashing several times, i finally got my reel posted. The reel is made up of most of the things i've worked on in the last 4 years. I only included 3 shots of El tigre because when i made the reel, only 2 shows had actually been shown. Anyway enjoy!
