So tonight's monday mate is also a trekked pic. 

It's one of my best friends, Pete Slattery.

I gave Pete the TNG season 1 costume, because he wore one for halloween once and it's one of my favourite photos ever.

We have a stag this weekend and I can't wait for it. (Haven't seen Pete and the lads in ages.)

Crazy commission!

Got commissioned at christmas to draw a friend's aunt as the incredible hulk. Probably one of my weirder commissions. 

Based the drawing on the Avengers movie Hulk. The reason I'm posting the drawing is because of the way I coloured it. Think I'm gonna try to do this a little more.

Decided to exercise the old memory on the bus home today. 

Good old Franners posted a great character design last week, and I thought it was great. So I wanted to see if I could draw it from memory. (I added the goggles knowing they weren't part of the original)

Ka'plah!

So, Ed requested a trek pic of himself as "Worf"... well, the Klingon version is still in the works(not really working so far) . So I'm gonna post the "human" version I did first. I added a more klingon beard and Worf's klingon sash. And in keeping with Ed's personal style, I figured he'd wear the captain's waist coat as his uniform.

Wouldnt be a trek theme without a Jordie!

Really happy with this one!

So I finally get round to posting this one - the talented Mr. Tom Galvin!

This was a very tough one, Tom is incredible at caricatures and as I will show it took a journey to get there.

The Process

 Some very early attempts. YIKES

 The first drawing breaking down shape and features.

 Was trying to create the pic using a definite shape... like the beard stuff in these.

The final 3 drawings. The first is the one where I think I nailed it, the middle and last lose alot of the energy and character, I think.

I'm posting this for a second reason tonight too. As a thank you for Tom's help over the last 2 months. Tom very brilliantly sent some notes and helped me with some stuff to do with my new job.

One of my favorite things to happen during season 1 of Randy Cunningham is that I converted my friend Neev Brennan into a bit of a trekkie. She had never really watched any of it, and now she loves both TNG and DS9!

Had to do a version of Dec Shalvey!!!. Was gonna draw him in the white dress uniform but he mentioned on facebook that the grey was his favourite uniform. I also drew him a little more serious than normal, cause I think it fits the rank :P

And it was pointed out that Steve needed his pips coloured in... so here you go Moondog!

Chain of command!

So, made a new profile pic for facebook the other night, just a quick scribble of myself in a gold uniform from Star trek OST.... kinda to signify how brilliant the new job is going.

Anyway, Mooney gave me the usual grief about it.... (tom paris my arse!)... but in the banter I said I'd draw him in his favourite uniform... now his favourite is ost too. So I decided to draw him in his second favourite, TNG season 4 uniform. (this is probably the nerdiest post on my blog ever!)

It's a quick cartoony one, but I think it worked!

Half past danger!!!

So Stephen Mooney's Half Past Danger is finally out tomorrow!!! I've been working on a proper pic for it, but good old work happened tonight and we're all celebrating tomorrow night! So just incase, I just scribbled this real quick.

Can't wait for the book - it's gonna be excellent!

Cyclops!

This is what I unwrapped on Christmas day! An awesome Cyclops piece!!!

Sinead very sneakily commissioned the amazing Stephen Mooney to do this brilliant splash page!

I have to be honest, pretty much think this could be one of the best things I think he's produced this year, and I'm pretty delighted it was for me!

For anyone who doesn't know Stephen's work, he was the artist on Joss Whedon's Angel comic and last year he snuck me into the Teen Wolf comic he did. (Which was CLASS!)

This year he is going to release his first creator owned book "Half Past Danger" with IDW and from everything he's shown me so far, it's gonna be brilliant.

Finally Framed!

These are the pieces I bought in the first Boulder art charity auction. Really happy with both of them. The dinosuar is a Chris O'Hara canvas piece, and the bear one is by Aine McGuinness. It's a beautiful watercolour that I bought for Sinead.

The girls raised over 2 grand and next month hope to repeat the success but on a larger scale.
