Here's some life drawing from the start of april. Exploring internal construction. It resulted in a return to blind drawing for me. Probably one of my favourite drawing techniques.

Monday Mate - Ross!

 Today's Monday mate is Ross from backgrounds! Still can't pick which I prefer more between the first 2. Think the green one got his eyes right.

At a function tonight, so this is a slight cheat. Saw this building on the way to work this morning. 

Thought it looked like it was singing!

Labyrinth!

 No scanner tonight, so this is a little rougher than I wanted. This is inspired by Jennifer Connolly in Labyrinth. Thought she was stunning in this when I was younger. Am gonna finish this.

Think it's gonna look something similar to the facebook tease I posted earlier tonight. Like the reflection thing, and it suits the "character". Just couldn't get it to work with the double glazing in the house.

Ray Quigley!

 For tonight's Monday mate, I'm posting the legend, Ray Quigley.

Obviously the first version without the stubble.

This one is where I pushed the square shapes.

This last one was done for fun. Myself and Neev tried to do quick sketches of people and this is the one for Ray. He is pretty "sexy" alright.

Happy Birthday Ro!!!

Happy Birthday to my my cuz, Ro Teehan.

  

Ro had a big influence on a young Jamie. Ro used to give me subjects to draw when he was babysitting me, let me and my sister stay up and watch Quantum Leap repeats and then later in life, he looked after a naive kid when he'd stupidly drink too much! Oh Boy!

This is obviously the showing my work again, building up to the one I like most. Will probably take another stab at this sometime again. I've marked 2 drawings in it. The top left corner is a drawing of Ro I did while at the pub with him. The second is the one that became the foundation for the favoured one.

Another hectic week

Another hectic week leads to only 2 posts... with that in mind next week will be a post a day. Determined now.

So here's another quick scarlet spider sketch. Here you can see a little idea I thought would be cool. Instead of the hoodie, maybe he would wear a blue flak jacket. Might post more of those scribbles, but the idea was muted when they redesigned Venom, and my good friend Dec nailed it in his run on the book.

Monday mate - Finbar!

So tonight's monday mate is Finbar Coyle!

The first image was done during Gumball. Still think this is my favourite, but Finbar had to go and grow a beard! So back to the drawing board with it.

Pretty happy with this thou. Done after a spat of "attempts" this is the one I think fits best with the beard.

Some alternatives I tried after the one above.... all about the eyes.

And here are all my other attempts from last year. Tried some "shape" stuff with the left hand side. The middle ones are rubbish, but they influenced the right hand side ones.

Boulder Kart!

So this is what i did with my bank holiday weekend - it was ment for the boulder blog's video game character theme last month. But I never got it finished. Each character is picked for specific reasons, like how Luigi in game reminds me of Mick now, or how Ed and Tom are the biggest guys in the studio physically, so they had to be the heavyweights.

Bank holday Matty!

Just posting a quick-one today. It's a bank holiday here, so I figure my blog might go a little unseen.

This is Matty Reid. Nice fast one too, did this on the train returning from our last charity cycle. Matty and myself have the same amount of trips done, (1 more than Damo :P)
